Veg Box Newsletter 14/10/16

Good Afternoon Folks,

We’re setting up an online shop with the Open Food Network for a limited selection of groceries that we sell in the shop, so you can order even more of your weekly shopping for delivery. We’ll be trialling this on a couple of delivery runs next week – you’ll have received an email about this with more information on how to set up if it is on your delivery run. Remember, Wednesday 11pm is the deadline for ordering for delivery on Friday.

We have beautiful bunches of fennel in all the veg boxes this week, They’d be ideal for salads, finely sliced, mixed in with their frothy fronds. Our growers at Neilston have harvested the last of the tomatoes, making way in the polytunnel for over wintering crops. We highly recommend frying them, with an egg on toast for these chilly autumnal mornings!

This is what to expect in your veg boxes today:

Small veg boxes: potatoes, carrots, onions, bunch of baby fennel, salad mix

Standard veg boxes: potatoes, carrots, onions, leeks, squash, cabbage, bunch of baby fennel, green tomatoes

Large veg boxes: potatoes, carrots, onions, leeks, squash, cabbage, bunch of baby beetroot, runner beans, bunch of baby fennel, chard, green tomatoes

Extra large veg boxes: potatoes, carrots, onions, leeks, squash, cabbage, bunch of baby beetroot, cucumber, runner beans, broad beans, bunch of baby fennel, chard, green tomatoes

In the fruit bags, we have:

#1 Red Globe grapes
#2 Conference pears
#3 Satsumas
#4 Early Windsor apples
#5 Bananas

This weeks special is cheese! We’ve got three different sized boxes, small £20, standard £37.50, and large £55. If you’d like to add one to your order, simply reply to this email.

I’d also like to take the opportunity to introduce you to George, who has recently joined us over at Veg Box HQ.

Happy cooking!

Katie
