Veg Box Newsletter 23/6/17

Happy Summer Folks!

This week we have been mostly :

– Planting out leeks, purple sprouting broccoli and kale as well as the last few courgettes

– Sowing more salad crops in the polytunnel

With the summer solstice passed we’re now looking to expand our range of salad crops. Different crops have different developmental triggers. There are a number of crops, notably oriental leaves, that tend to go to seed in response to light levels increasing day by day. Now that daily light levels are gradually decreasing again these crops will instead focus on producing delicious leaves for our salads, so look out for these in a few week’s time.

Check out our veggiepedia for more information and recipe suggestions for the produce in your veg box.
