Veg Box Newsletter 04/08/17

Hello Folks,

Up on the farm we’ve been planting out salad leaves, lettuce and chard to keep our supply going through late summer. We’re also starting to plan sowings of the crops that will take us into the winter – with kale, chard and carrots to sow in the next week.

Left Field Market Garden had a visit from Patrick Harvie MSP and Glasgow’s Green Party Councillors this week, keen to see our organic farming methods in action. We have some ideas of how Glasgow City Council can improve its Food Growing Strategy.

The August edition of Munch of the Month is now open – enter by sharing a photo of your veg box creation on social media with the tags #locavoremm and #locavorevegbox.

The Open Food Network is now open for orders for delivery next week. We’ve increased the range to include more Locavore grown veg which is growing in abundance, as well as plain and smoked tofu.

As it’s the first Friday of the month, we’re delivering meat boxes. There are 4 sizes to choose from, small (£55), standard (£110), family (£150) and value (£75). Each box contains a selection of cuts, with the value meat box including offal and cheaper cuts. If you’d like to add one to your order, just ask!
