Veg Box Newsletter w/c 12.11.18

Hello Folks,

We’ve got Harlequin squash all the veg boxes this week – it’s a favourite over here in the veg box department as it’s so delicious, is a delight to behold with it’s green flecks on pale yellow! If you get a large or extra large veg box, you’ll also be getting Uchiki Kuri, a teardrop shaped orange squash with Japanese origins. Check out our Veggiepedia for more information and recipe suggestions for winter squash.

Alongside our veg boxes, we’re also delivering pasta, pulse & grain selections this week. You can find out more about our monthly specials here, and if you’d like to add one to your order, drop us an email.

In this months’ Grain, Pulse & Pasta Selection you’ll find the following:

It’s that time of year again… For those of you who like to get festive you might like to take a look at our lovely Christmas offerings. Choose from turkeys, gifts and cheeses. The highlight for us is our potted Christmas trees- the gift that keeps on giving. They come in four different sizes, delivered to your door, and then collected again after Christmas. The trees then move on from their decorating job to a security job – they’re used as windshields at our farm in Neilston. (They’re living- so remember to water it and not to put it next to a radiator!)

As usual, join your fellow subscribers over in the Facebook group, and check out our Veggiepedia for recipe suggestions.

Please remember to return your glass milk bottles, as well as your veg boxes for reuse.

As well as selling local, organic and zero waste foods and goods from a shop and caf on Victoria Road, Locavore delivers veg boxes to more thanhouseholds and grows organic food which it supplies to other local cafes and shops.
