Brussels
sprouts! Brussels sprouts! They’re back! It’s time!
I
don’t think there’s anything I enjoy more
than
these crunchy little buddies. They have all the leafy satisfaction of
a good cabbage, but with a bonus, moreish al dente texture and nutty
flavour. If they’re pan-fried and tossed with some crumbled fried
black pudding, there’s nothing I’d rather have for dinner.
I hope you enjoy them, as they’re in all the veg boxes this week, along with a host of other seasonal local veg, including sprout tops! Sprout tops are the leafy crown at the top of a stalk of brussels sprouts, and can be used in place of chard or kale. According to this article (with a lovely recipe!) they were all the rage back in 2013. Well, I think this is one trend that we can bring into the next decade.
If you’re not quite as into the sprouts as I am, don’t worry- there’s plenty else to get excited for this week. Parsnips, celeriac, leeks, and, for the large and extra-large boxes, spaghetti squash. The supplementary veg bags have an Italian flavour this week, inviting you to get lost in deep bowls of flavourful pasta.

Monthly Specials
This week, as it’s the 5th Friday in November, doesn’t have a monthly special, so we’re using the extra time to make sure we do all the monthly specials as well as possible. If you’re subscribed to a Monthly Special box, don’t forget to fill out the survey we sent this Monday- let us know if you didn’t get a link.
