We’ve got a diverse little team who work across our shop, gardens and veg box HQ…
Conor – Conor is one of the longest standing members of our team having first joined us through the Community Jobs Scotland in 2013. Since then he has picked up different roles and currently looks after our loose goods and chilled foods.
Kim – Kim joined us in 2016 after moving up from Norwich where she worked in a whole foods cafe and took part in a community supported agriculture project. She’s an illustrator and artist and her cards and Christmas wreaths are available in the shop.
Laura – Laura joined us in 2016 initially helping to pack veg boxes before taking on weekend shifts to run the shop. She formally was a member of Unicorn Grocery in Manchester who are a big inspiration to us.
Olivia – Olivia joined us in autumn 2017 and works predominantly in the shop in addition to helping to pack veg boxes. She has a passion for cookery and a background in food photography.
Vivien – Vivien joined Locavore at the start of 2016 and looks after most of the groceries. She’s done lots of work with food over the years in kitchens and Glasgow shops Grassroots and Roots & Fruits.
Louis – Louis joined us in 2016 after having been involved in and around Locavore for a number of years. He previously worked with other local food projects in Glasgow and also went through our Grow the Growers programme before joining us as a grower.
Lizzie – Lizzie joined us in autumn 2017. When she’s not working at our growing sites, Lizzie is a keen forager and is studying Arabic.
Natalie – Natalie joined us in January 2017 as a trainee grower through the Community Jobs Fund.
Veg Box & Wholesale Team
Katie – Katie joined us in 2015 to become our first dedicated veg box coordinator. Along with Kimberley she is the point of contact for your veg boxes and plans out what will be delivered each week. Katie has a background in architecture and enjoys making ceramics. Her handmade cards are available to buy in the shop.
Kimberley – Kimberley joined us in autumn 2016. Having begun in the shop, she now works alongside Katie coordinating veg boxes and running our wholesale offer. Kimberley’s background is in languages.
Andy – Andy joined the team in autumn 2017 and manages our accounts in addition to doing deliveries. He has lots of experience in the whole foods sector having previously managed Grassroots and been a co-op member at Greencity.
Michael – Michael helps pack our veg boxes. He also helps the growing team at Left Field and cooks great veggie food.
Iain – Iain helps deliver our veg boxes. When he’s not delivering goodness he’s banging drums, being a man wi a van or general handy man including at at The Croft and Left Field.
Ursula – Ursula helps pack and deliver our veg boxes. Outside of Locavore, Ursula does lighting design.
Laura – Laura helps out at our growing sites and packs our veg boxes. She does so much other stuff it’s hard to keep up with.
Alan – Alan helps deliver our veg boxes. He’s also chair of the Govanhill Baths who do some great work in our community.
Mark – Mark helps deliver our veg boxes. He’s involved with lots of community development work both in Glasgow and his native Dumfries.
Mike – Mike helps deliver our veg boxes with us. When he’s not bringing you boxes of goodness he’s doing music projects with Trembling Bells, Mike Heron and Solveig.
Lorne – Lorne helps deliver our veg boxes. When he’s not bringing you boxes of goodness he’s also doing music projects with his band The Carlton Jug Band.
Julie – Julie helps deliver our veg boxes. Outside of Locavore, Julie makes furniture.
Craig – Craig helps deliver our veg boxes.
Tom – Tom helps deliver our veg boxes.
Kim – Kim has volunteered with us for a good while now and lends a helping hand at our growing sites and has helped to pack veg boxes.
Kirsty – Kirsty volunteers at our growing sites helping with the harvests and general upkeep of the crops.
Martin – Martin is our longest standing volunteer and helps unpack deliveries to the shop.
Yazmin – Yazmin has volunteered with us for a couple of years helping to pack our veg boxes.
Reuben – Reuben started Locavore after working on community garden projects on the south side of Glasgow and being interested in the potential of using a social enterprise to help build fairer and more sustainable food networks.
Doro – Doro first joined Locavore when she came to do a work placement with us in 2013 as part of her course in organic horticulture. She returned to Glasgow later in the year and slowly began taking on more roles which over time have included bakery, catering, community gardening, shop assistant and IT.
Clem – Clem is an artist, producer and food activist who has been involved with the local food movement in Glasgow for several years.
Robin – Robin is the Director of a long established and successful visitor attraction in central Scotland which includes a working farm.
John – John is a Glasgow born musician, broadcaster and writer as well as a supporter of local food and community growing projects.
